This Month's Winner
This month's winner of A HERRING! is Stone Dead Production's Monty Python in
Australia site. You knew it was coming- any 'zine named The
Shrubbery MUST be into Python. And we are. Stone Dead's site is hands
down THE best 'net source for Monty Python stuff. They've got the scripts
to almost every movie, Flying Circus, and album. There's also an
incredible sound and picture library (just perfect for those MP-themed
desktops...) as well as Python quizzes-to-end-all-Python-quizzes. Look for
my name (AnnHalibut) on one of the "Honour Rolls." Australia, Australia,

This month's winner of "A HERRING!" is "Late Night with Conan and Merv,"
run by Damone. We picked this page for a number of reasons. First, and
most important, Conan O'Brien is one of our favorite people here at The
Shrubbery! Secondly, if there is anything you possibly wanted to know
about Conan, Andy, Max, or the show, you can find it on Damone's page. You
want Conan's articles for The Harvard Lampoon? He got 'em. You
want to know about the office where Conan's mom works? He got it. You
want a Conan drinking game? He got it. You want fancy grafix and sounds?
He don't got it. There's so much info included on this page that there's
just no ROOM for all that stuff. You MUST go to Damone's page. You MUST
bookmark it. You MUST send me a dollar. Do it!
"Who is Merv?" you ask? Well, you will only find the answer to that

The Shrubbery would like to congratulate
the WWWF GRUDGE MATCH, recipient of the first ever A Herring! The site, in which two
guys argue over who would win in a fight Raptors vs. Aliens, Gary Coleman vs. Webster,
Hannibal Lector vs. Jeffrey Dahmer, and even A Rottweiler vs. A Rottweiler's weight in
Chuihuahuas. They get the award for their contribution to knowledge in the field of
handicapping as well as for creating one more site on the web that's actually funny!
Congrats, guys.
How Can I Get One?
Our only requiremtns are thus:
1) We don't promise anyone anything. We don't even promise we'll visit your site. The truth is, Jessica, Jason, Tom and the rest are terribly busy people, and we only have a certain amount of time. The Shrub comes first, then A Herring!
2) We will not go to any lengths at all to find your site! If your address is wrong, you left out info in the application, your page is missing and/or difficult to navigate, forget it! Sorry, but mistakes like those mean YOU DON'T DESERVE AN AWARD.
3) You must put A Herring! graphic with a link back to The Shrub to get the award. Because we are so tough and take so long to find sites, A Herring! ia a real honor. Display it proudly.
4) You are now on the Shrub monthly mailing list. This is under the assumption that you went by our guidelines and really like strange humor and whatnot, and are not just here to add another award to you collection.
